2027 Corvette: Key Upgrades, Performance, Features & More!

The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette takes the mid-engine sports car formula into another chapter with a refreshed Stingray, the return of the Grand Sport name and the arrival of the electrified Grand Sport X. Across the lineup, Chevrolet continues to combine dramatic design, sophisticated technology and serious performance.

For drivers in Orléans and the Ottawa area, the 2027 Corvette offers several distinct personalities, from the everyday-focused Stingray to the track-oriented Z06 and the extreme-performance ZR1 and ZR1X.

What's New for the 2027 Corvette?

The most important update is the new naturally aspirated 6.7-litre LS6 V8, which becomes the standard engine for the 2027 Stingray and powers the new Grand Sport models. It produces 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful standard engine ever offered in a Corvette.

The Stingray also receives several performance-focused updates. An available centre-exit exhaust is offered for the first time in the mid-engine Corvette era, while updated Magnetic Ride Control calibration is designed to improve body control. The available Z51 Performance Package gains a shorter 5.56:1 final-drive ratio, revised aerodynamics and newly developed Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tires.

Another major addition is the Grand Sport, which returns for 2027. It is joined by the Grand Sport X, which adds an electrified front axle and all-wheel drive. The Grand Sport X produces 721 combined horsepower, combining the LS6 V8 with its electric drive unit.

Infotainment and Technology

The 2027 Corvette puts technology directly around the driver. The cabin features three primary displays: a 12.7-inch centre touchscreen, 14-inch Driver Information Centre and 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen. This layout provides access to vehicle information, entertainment and performance-related functions without taking attention away from the driving position.

The Performance App is particularly useful for enthusiasts. It can display real-time performance information, including horsepower and torque data, while available Performance Data and Video Recorder technology can record driving sessions for later review.

Google built-in compatibility, wireless phone projection and wireless charging are also available within the Corvette technology suite. Higher trims can add a premium Bose audio system, Head-Up Display and additional camera technology.

For the new Grand Sport models, available technology also includes Performance Data and Video Recorder, Performance Traction Management and multiple drive modes. The result is a sports car that can provide useful information whether you're commuting through Ottawa or spending a day at a track.

Bold Mid-Engine Exterior Design

Bold Mid-Engine Exterior Design

The Corvette's mid-engine proportions remain one of its defining characteristics. A low nose, wide stance, sculpted bodywork and strategically positioned air intakes give the car a distinctive exotic appearance.

The new Grand Sport and Grand Sport X take that design further with a wide-body configuration, integrated rear spoiler, aggressive side air inlets and available 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged-aluminum wheels. Heritage-inspired graphics, fender hash marks and centre stripes are also available.

The Z06 takes a more aggressive approach with its wider body and track-oriented aerodynamic elements. At the top of the range, the ZR1 and ZR1X add even more advanced aerodynamic hardware, including an available carbon-fibre aero package. On the ZR1X, this package can generate more than 544 kg (1,200 lb.) of downforce.

Coupe buyers get a removable roof panel, while convertible versions feature a power-retractable hardtop that can operate at speeds of up to 48 km/h.

Driver-Focused Interior and Practical Cargo Space

Despite its performance credentials, the Corvette is designed to be more than a weekend track machine. The two-seat cabin places the driver at the centre, with controls and displays positioned for easy access.

Available materials include leather, suede and carbon-fibre accents. Higher trims offer upgraded seating and interior finishes, including Napa leather on 3LZ models.

The mid-engine layout does not eliminate everyday practicality. The Corvette provides storage at both the front and rear, with Chevrolet listing approximately 12.6 cubic feet (357 litres) of cargo volume for the Grand Sport.

That makes it possible to use the Corvette for more than just special occasions, although cargo capacity naturally remains limited compared with conventional vehicles.

Performance: From 535 to 1,250 Horsepower

The 2027 Corvette range covers an unusually broad performance spectrum.

The Stingray uses the naturally aspirated 6.7-litre LS6 V8 with 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chevrolet lists an available 0–96 km/h time of as little as 2.9 seconds with the Z51 Performance Package.

The Grand Sport uses the same LS6 V8 and delivers rear-wheel-drive performance, while the Grand Sport X adds a front electric drive unit for all-wheel-drive capability and 721 combined horsepower. Its battery has a 1.9-kWh capacity.

The Z06 moves to a naturally aspirated 5.5-litre LT6 flat-plane-crank V8 producing 670 horsepower. It also features standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0, with an available Z07 Performance Package for more track-focused capability.

The ZR1 takes performance much further with its twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre LT7 V8 producing 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet lists an available 0–96 km/h time of 2.3 seconds with the ZTK Performance Package.

At the top sits the ZR1X, combining the LT7 V8 with an electrified front axle for 1,250 combined horsepower. It can accelerate from 0–96 km/h in as little as 1.89 seconds and offers a track-rated top speed of 375 km/h.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Performance is the headline, but the Corvette also incorporates modern driver-assistance technology. Depending on model and trim, available features include Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, HD Rear Vision Camera, HD Front and Rear Vision Camera, Rear Park Assist and Forward Collision Alert.

Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking and IntelliBeam automatic high beams are among the safety technologies listed for the Grand Sport.

These systems can provide additional awareness, but they do not replace attentive driving, particularly in changing Ontario weather and road conditions.

Corvette Awards and Recognition, 2023–2025

The Corvette family has continued to receive significant recognition in recent years. In 2023, the Corvette Z06 was named MotorTrend's Performance Vehicle of the Year, beating 20 other contenders and earning the award for its performance, engineering and driving capability.

The broader Corvette lineup also received strong owner-based recognition. J.D. Power's 2025 Corvette data gave the model an 83/100 consumer rating and ranked it third in the Premium Sporty Car category.

For 2026, Chevrolet also highlights the Corvette's Best Predicted Residual Value among Midsize Premium Sporty Cars recognition from J.D. Power.
